  Nir Altman Gallery presents three video pieces focusing on events unfolding in domestic scenarios.
  These Installations portray a series of everyday circumstances gradually transforming from the banality of their mundane settings into a more hazardous dimension that hints at undertones of domestic violence, emotional emergency and family drama.

  In “Tears Go Black” (2 channel video installation by Noa Gur, 2009) an electricity socket projected on a wall dribbles black liquid and reminds of the friction arising from the fatal combination of electricity and water. Nearby a further projection of dark water accumulates on the floor and gradually makes the reflection of a neon light on the ceiling visible, parts of the space in which the action was recorded are also seen.

  The work refers to Frank Stellaś “Black paintings“a series of monochromatic painting re defined as three dimensional objects.

  “Slow light” is a piece (video installation, mixed media, one channel by Dionis Escorsa, 2002) in which the projection of a window lit by a passing beam of light brushes the surface of a dining table, as it moves along one is under the impression that a stain of blood-red wine is smeared over the table cloth.
  The essential influence of light on the perception of objects becomes palpably evident here and the manner in which the images are applied almost remind of the texture of a painting.

  ISHI is a film installation by An Laphan (21'22''), based upon three Japanese poems by Kakinomoto no Hitomaro and his wife Yosami no Otome from the 7th century AD, adapted in three different translations. They describe the unfulfilled dialogue between the dying poet and his unknowing wife, awaiting his return. The film tries to capture the uncertainty of waiting in the everyday thoughts and actions of a young widow.
